Janes & The Dust

                          Matt Janes - Guitars, Vocals

Born in Halifax, N.S, Matt began singing at assemblies in elementary school starting with his first song sung publicly "Falling" by Montell Jordan. But once he hit highschool his step-father put a guitar in his hands and the musical adventure truly began. It's hard to believe that just a guitar could spawn such a diverse world of music. Matt performed mainly as a solo artist to this point with some duets with his wife Jamie in the mix. You can check out much of Matt's work at www.soundclick.com/mattjanes.

Jamie Janes - Keyboards, Vocals, Percussion 

    This local gal has been passionate about music from a young age. Starting primarily as a classicly trained singer, Jamie spent much of her young age enjoying and performing Opera and other classical forms of music. In her late teens Jamie was introduced to the world of singing pop music and has never looked back. As a result of the classical training her voice is so versatile that she can sing virtually any style of music! Jamie also plays all of the keyboard and piano parts for the band as well as shaking the tambourine and maracas and wailing on the harmonica.

Jon Janes - Drums 

 Born in St. Johns, NFLD, Jon had lived most of his life being passionate about music but never engaging in its creation. Recently Jon decided to pick up the drums and the result could not have been better. This guy looks like a seasoned vet out there banging out beats to popular tunes as well as creating beats for Janes & the Dust originals.

Tom Kushner - Bass 

        Born right here in the heart of Ottawa. Tom has been subjected to many, many different facets of music from his father who had him playing the flute in school. Tom sat through countless hours of Jethro Tull and many other obscure artists. It wasn't until recently that Tom decided to pick up the bass and construct some music of his own. This guy is an absolute rhythm machine!

STEVE LAROCQUE  - LEAD GUITAR  

 Steve has played in a handfull of bands over the years starting in highschool to the present. His musical influences are incredibly diverse ranging from Led Zeppelin to the Beatles. You will recognize him on stage by his 70's era Les Paul which sounds as good if not better today than 30 plus years ago. Get ready to see Steve shredding some insane guitar solos that are just the thing that Janes and the Dust needed to fill the void. We welcome Steve as the newest member of the band Officially announced November 28th 2009. Steve has been playing with the band since the spring of 2009.
